Our KS3-2 and KS4 learners enjoyed an enriching trip to the historic city of York. Opportunities like this are vital in helping our learners build confidence, curiosity, and real-world understanding beyond the classroom.
Our first visit was to the Festival of Trees at York Minster, where learners were impressed by the creativity, symbolism, and atmosphere of the cathedral. The beautifully decorated trees sparked thoughtful conversations around tradition, community, and celebration, while also giving learners the chance to practise respectful behaviour in a significant cultural setting.
We also explored The Treasurer’s House, where learners discovered fascinating stories about the building’s history and the people who once lived there. Walking through the rooms brought history to life and encouraged excellent engagement and questioning from both groups.
The day was a great success, supporting learning, teamwork and independence, and creating positive memories for everyone involved.
