Ethos and Values

Coritani Academy works in partnership with local schools and local authorities to provide academic qualifications for learners who benefit from a more personalised approach to education than is typically available within mainstream settings.

We deliver relationship-based education, a learning experience that is truly unique and tailored to the needs of the individual child. 

Our staff are open and caring and have a passion and desire to ensure that learners achieve excellent outcomes at the end of their time with us. We believe that every young person has the potential to succeed when they feel safe, are inspired, and encouraged to take responsibility for their own growth.

Drawing on the principles of the Coritani Mindset we help learners focus on what they can control: their attitudes, choices, effort, and actions. We encourage resilience in the face of challenges, self-discipline in learning, respect for others, and the courage to persevere when circumstances are difficult through a daring to be excellent attitude.

Our aim is to inspire learners through excellent education and personalised support, enabling them to develop character, confidence, practical wisdom, a readiness to embrace challenges and opportunities and the desire to dare to be excellent. We strive to ensure that every learner feels Safe, valued, and Ready to become a responsible, resilient, and Respectful member of their community.

Objectives of the Academy

• To provide a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where learners develop self-control, wellbeing, strong respectful character, and a sense of belonging within their community.
• To engage learners in education by developing resilience, self-belief, and a commitment to personal growth, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally.
• To ensure all learners have access to the same opportunities as their peers through a broad, balanced, and inspiring curriculum that promotes excellence, responsibility, readiness for lifelong learning, and a positive contribution to society.

At Coritani Academy everyone works collectively using the Coritani Mindset, a set of values that we have all agreed together to help us to be successful in our lives.  Coritani Mindset Inspires Excellence and encourages students to be Safe, Ready, and Respectful in all that they do.

By developing these qualities, our learners gain the confidence and strength of character to navigate challenges, contribute positively to society, and flourish both in education and in life.
