World Book Day at Coritani Academy looked very different to other years, but that did not stop us from having a little fun and the costumes on the day all inspired discussion on the different characters and the stories they tell. In KS2 everyone got into the spirit of the day with characters popping up throughout the day including Mary Poppins, Stick Lady Love, The Worst Witch and even Bunce from Fantastic Mr Fox! The book of the day was How to Train your Dragon. Luke brought in his very own dragon ready for story time, earning him the Best Accessories award! KS3 and KS4 also got involved with the dressing up and activities, with years 9, 10 and 11 all considering what their own Biography cover might look like. Musical notes, books, friends, computers and mobile phones and featured here! Some fantastic costumes were also in attendance on the day… we had a Storm Trooper and The Mad Hatter, Charlie Chaplin, The White Rabbit, Peanut Butter and Jelly, a Pirate and Che Guevara along with a Pink Lady! All in all a great World Book Day for both students and staff, and we can’t wait for next year!
