CEO's Update

At the end of this summer term and the 2023/2024 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who makes up our Trust community  and for the part you play in ensuring we are successful in all that we do.  Over the last year, trustees and senior leaders have completed a piece of work revisiting our vision and values as they are now 10 years old (how time flies!).  We will continue to develop, share and promote these in the new academic year but are confident that our new ethos

"Inspiring Excellence Together - A place where communities matter and individuals thrive"

now really reflects who we have grown to become.

Coritani Academy is a central part of Isle Education Trust.  It has been a pleasure and a privilege  to witness the fantastic work and learning experiences staff have created for all learners and to see our young people grow as a result over the year.  I always look forward to visits to the academy as no two days are the same and there is never a dull moment!  To the staff I send a huge thank you, to learners a well done for making the most of the opportunities offered and to parents another thank you for your support.

With the recent change of government and associated new Education secretary, we do not know what awaits us over the summer and next year, but I can guarantee that whatever it is, we will continue to work tirelessly to make the experience for all involved positive, enjoyable and successful.

I hope you have a wonderful summer.

Principal's Update

As we start to dream of warmer weather and an eventual end to the rain (fingers crossed) it must mean that it is nearly the summer and the end of what has been an awesome academic year at Coritani, a year that has seen us celebrating our achievements in yet another successful visit from OFSTED, achieving an award from UNICEF and more importantly watching all of our year 11s complete their GCSE and graduate from Coritani onto incredible adventures in the future.

Our newsletter as always contains details of all the great things that our learners have been involved in over the last few months, we hope you enjoy reading about them as much as we have enjoyed doing them.

Sometimes it’s the smallest moments that make you proudest and this was never more true when our bus got stuck in the mud on the way out of Flamingo land, after a very tiring day and facing a long journey home this was enough to challenge the toughest of us, but nevertheless our leaners (and staff) were fantastic and remained positive while a tractor came and towed the bus out.  It was great to see how leaners supported each other at what was a tough moment.  Well done to all.

Looking ahead we return to school on Tuesday 3 September for what will be Coritani’s 10th anniversary year.  More to follow on that one!  Until then stay safe over the summer, we hope the rain stops and the sun shines for you.

Dave Flowitt

Executive Principal
